A flurry of track action expected today at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

The 5th day of practice for the 94th Indy 500 will take place under mostly cloudy skies today. The weather seems to have finally broken and sun is expected later in the day and throughout most of tomorrow. Thursday night and Friday during the day look rainy, but Saturday and Sunday look very good.

On the track action picks up again, with most teams trying to balance race day setups and qualification setups. E.J. Viso was released late Tuesday night from Methodist hospital. Viso hit the 1st turn wall late in practice and was taken to Methodist, but x-rays were negative.

Five teams made up the top five positions yesterday, as Dixon with Ganassi was P1, Moraes with KV was P2, Andretti with Andretti Autosport was P3, Tagliani with FAZZT was P4 and Wheldon with Panther was P5.

Most of the speeds have been with a tow (cars trailing cars) so pole speed looks to be similar to last year, right around the 224.8 (Helio’s pole speed last year) to possibly 226 mph (likely Ganassi).
